About SDA
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is housing designed for NDIS participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. The NDIA decides whether SDA is reasonable and necessary, and if it is, SDA funding is included in the participant's plan as a Capital support.
SDA funding pays for the home itself, not the support you receive there. Supports such as Supported Independent Living (SIL) are funded separately. Living in an SDA home with us does not mean you have to use NavAura Care for your other supports. You are always free to choose your providers.
SDA design categories
- Improved Liveability: features for people with sensory, intellectual or cognitive impairment
- Fully Accessible: high physical accessibility for people with significant physical impairment
- Robust: resilient design for people with complex behaviours, reducing the risk of harm
- High Physical Support: for people with significant physical impairment who need very high levels of support
Help finding accommodation
Whether or not you have SDA funding, we can help you look for suitable accommodation, apply for a tenancy and keep it, and plan the move with your family and support coordinator.

Who SDA is for
- Participants with SDA funding in their NDIS plan
- Participants who may be eligible and want to apply, with help from their support coordinator
